Magnolia Gardens Public Housing

Magnolia Gardens consists of eight residences on half an acre owned by the San Benito Housing Authority. Two duplex buildings and four single family homes are arranged on the property to create a mini neighborhood. The homes face two streets, McCullough and Victoria, taking cues from the subdivision and LIHTC development next door. A central path meanders behind the homes, connecting the residents to each other and the neighborhood. Simple materials and bright colors create a lively atmosphere, and landscaping beds provide residents the opportunity to plant their own plants. The San Benito Housing Authority is a great client, and were eager to provide homes with a unique identity.
